First collection at F148. On top of shell bed; south-facing. Same horizon as F146. Steep slope with thick lens of snails. Dave is working in photo. F148 is part of locality of F144, F145, F146, and F148. Note that this locality was also collected a second day (8/17).

F110 is in area of WB00-31, larger shells are washing out of the unconsolidated silty sandstone. Source bed located and in situ fossils collected. In place fossils in slightly better condition than highly exfoliated float. Source bed is moist. See pic. 8. Lamb reports that F109, F110, F115, F116, and F119 are in same area at roughly the same elevation (– 25 ft).

Reported as F109, assigned by Hartman to F109a. I believe this F109 refers to WB00-31. Lamb reports that F109, F110, F115, F116, and F119 are in same area and same elevation (– 25 ft). Joe Beamon took me to a microlocality near where the new T. rex has been found (NW of Cold Turkey Coulee). At this site, shells are small, highly fragmented. They appear to be coming from a layer about 1.5 ft thick. Most of this layer is cemented sand. There is a possible secondary silty and less cohesive layer a few ft below. A few matrix specimens were collected.

A new locality by Larry Boychuk. On east side of CMR 452, not very far from F107.

There appear to be two different locations for this locality; maybe something is mislabeled? MBK

Top of shell bed; locality south of Road 452 (Ö F36 location).

Locality is south of CMR 452 and restricted to the area noted. Superficially, most larger specimens are highly fragmented and unrecoverable. Some smaller specimens were in better shape. It appears that only a few (1 to 2) species were represented. Lamb picked up some float of the smaller specimens and trenched out two larger clams. No snails were found. See Lamb for some sediment comments.
